What is it?

New for 2023/24 and building on the success of Our Brilliant Book Club, we are excited to launch this new project! To carry on shining a bright spotlight on new and engaging books and reading across the city, we are introducing Our Brilliant Book Box!

Pupils throughout school, throughout the academic year, will get to embrace encountering and reading new books from a range of authors - whether that be as part of reading alone, whole class reading, in the library or at home! Suggested activities and challenges will be provided for schools to use as they wish.

Each participating school will receive a box of books and resources to unveil with pupils three times during the academic year.

We also feel that this project enables teachers to engage as readers too, whilst introducing new titles and authors.

What does it involve?

Maintained schools can take part for no additional cost. There is a charge of £525 per school for academies.
